The Phoenix Works was established in 1832 by Jonah Reed and Joseph Clementson. The works was purchased by Milners Pottery Wholesalers in 1961.
The site is currently under renovation, and progress is looking good. A mixture of retail units and apartments, the building has been owned by the same family for many years and one of the apartments will be formed around the two remaining bottle ovens. There is plenty of deRp left to see though as most of the completed work so far is to the exterior and courtyard.
