I was invited out with Da Flea and BGA on a great sunny day to venture around an abandoned cable factory.
After a just over an hour in the site we heard what we thought were other foot steps... and De Flea had a rather narrow escape with some security. So we decided to leave and head back in a bit later. It is now apparent the site is being cleared for possible demo to make way for a new housing development. Bit of a shame we were interupted as we had a little bit more left to explore, though a good 70% of it was covered
Fritz Von Fu... Who?!
Poor quality pano - but gives you the idea of the awesome mural
Thanks for looking
Prysmian Cables (formerly Pirelli Cables) opened at the Hampshire site in the 1920's, doubling the production of high voltage cables for the company. These days the site is being emptied and soon demolished to make way for a new housing development.
