Visited with sm-np, and a big thanks to him for showing me it.

A large many passaged WW2 air raid which has remained pretty much hidden from and forgotten by the general public and so its totally grafitti free and stays pretty much complete.

sm-np suggested waderz and so I bought a pair of aldi's finest this morning for the princely sum of 19 beer tokens.
thank fook for that as in places it would definately have been welly breach time. some areas were dry and others were up to 1 1/2 feet deep and judging by the watermarks on the walls have been at least a foot deeper at some point.

I took way too many pics and am still sorting them out so here is a small selection.

this deisel engine provided both the air conditioning ( via a pulley wheel arangement onto a huge fan) and the electricity for the lights.

Ill post a few more pics in a bit but have a look at sm-np's report as his pics show the sheer scale of the shelter much better.
I guess its at least 200 metres long and probably longer

cheers for looking
