Préventorium de Dolhain, also known as Préventorium Provincial Godefroid Lonhienne, is situated in Belgium. This Art Deco style building opened in 1955 and closed in the mid 1980s.
The Preventorium was built to accommodate children who were (presumed to be) infected with tuberculosis and continued to act as a sanatorium until the mid 1980′s, when it became uneconomical to maintain.
Following the closure the property was transferred back into ownership of the government and ultimately being sold to a businessman, who planned to strip out the building and convert it into high end loft apartments. The latter never happened....
This report was made in April 2014.
