I know this has been well covered on the site and have mooched about here a few times as it's just up the road, but never with my camera.
I heard that there had been a planning application put in to develop the site so thought I'd revisit (with camera) before it becomes dust!
Opened circa 1942 RAF Croft started as additional living accommodation for HMS Gosling, housing up to 400 servicemen. It became a processing base for USAF at Burtonwood around 1955. It boasted a Movie Theatre, Nursery, Snack bar serving beer and a 24hour Mess hall. Plenty more detailed history to be found on the internet if you need it.

Cheers for looking.
