RAF Nocton Hospital - Lincolnshire.
History
RAF Hospital Nocton Hall was a 740 bed hospital located in the village of Nocton, Lincolnshire serving the predominantly RAF personnel based at the large number of RAF Stations in the area. Officially designated as No. 1 RAF Hospital Nocton Hall, the facility opened for medical use in June 1947. The hospital was situated in the grounds of Nocton Hall which was used to provide accommodation for female officers. The hospital was used by forces personnel, their families and local civilians until it closed as an RAF facility in March 1983.
In 1984 it was leased to the United States Air Force for use as a wartime contingency hospital, during the Gulf War, before handing it back to the UK Government in September 1995.
The explore
Access was relatively easy with a bit of walking down the fence line, and when I say a bit.. They where pretty on the ball with wiring back up holes in the fence.
Not sure why or how I didn’t end up at the hall, but this place is huge and it was a good mooch nevertheless, although I’m still not sure how I managed to find the the same exit as I entered, I was walking around thinking I've got no idea where I am and I don't recognise anything, the next minute it was just there..
What would have been the old water tower?
Which is pretty empty, I could have sworn I had a wide shot from inside here, but I’m buggered if I can find it.
Moving onto some of the other buildings.
And finally moving onto what seems like the never ending corridor.
Thank you for reading.
