RAF Wittering Bomb Store, Collyweston, Cambridgeshire - August 2016
Another one from yet another massive backlog from myself! It's been a very very busy year for me truth be told!
I visited this with Mookster way back in August. It was a nice day, I was in the Triumph Acclaim again (Posh badged Honda!)because of more problems with my "Modern "Sensible" Mitsubishi" and it was a nice sunny day.
Nice and easy on the access side of things and a lot of Graff in varying qualities.
It's not suprising bu the name; that it was built to store weapons for The RAF; "constructed in September and October 1952 and designed by the Air Ministry Works Department as part of the United Kingdom and NATO strategic airborne nuclear deterrent"
The site was listed in 2011 because of its significance in history; so planners will need to work around the various laws which will restrict the demolition of this site.
