Rauceby Hospital
My first report, Excuse the rubbish photos, taken on a iphone.
Just a bit of history first.
Construction began in 1897 and it was officially opened as Kesteven County Asylum on the 20th of June 1902.
In 1940 it served as an RAF Crash and Burns unit, taking the name No.4 RAF Hospital Rauceby.
A major fire was found in 1945 in the main hall, but was quickly restored.
In 1947 the RAF handed the hospital back to civilian use but patients did not return until 1948.
The hospital later closed in 1997.
(sorta pic heavy)
I went with 1 other friend and met a fellow group exploring. Safe to say almost no security apart from the cameras on the chapel. They are also re-paving the road outside so something might be happening.
