Another one of the "Turkey & Dweeb Hospital every week" places...
This hospital didnt hold very high hopes for us. It was quoted as being completely demolished on Simon Cornwells a few years back, and to my knowledge there is still "some" of the site left.
When we arrived some site clearance work had commenced and the nurses block had been flattened. BUT, it still had admin (with clock), a main hall, a water tower, morgue and wards & corridors. This was a bonus day and for something that we had pencilled as a probably 5 minute explore, took us nearly all day..
The first trip was a nighttime affair for about 30mins and then we came back the very same week in the day and did the whole lot. We managed a clock first again and saw the chapel aswell in the day.
here's the pics of a thoroughly enjoyable day...we re-visited 2 more times after the initial visit. I always think of this place as the "forgotten asylum" because a lot of people didnt visit this place because of its whereabouts. During the time we visited this place, the vast majority of the community were down south and were happy exploring cane hill, west park and queen liz.
An awesome explore, here's the pictures..
