Hi all,

My last pictures were a little small so it said hello to recycling bin. I'm going all guns out, and putting loads more photos in this one, and hopefully they are a bit bigger.

These photos were taken sometime last year. Unfortuantly I am yet to get a report up on this forum promptly.

It appeared at the time I was there, the building was been prepped for possible demolition or conversion.

There were one or two golden rooms that were been used for storage for loads of equipment - pictures included of these gems :-)

Sorry for the poor quality photos. This is a mixture of on site security, not sure if the CCTV around the building was working or not, plus just uploading these now off my dads computer - Its prehistoric.

I feel I'm a very busy explorer, I do a lot each year (althrough not too many reports!) But I have to say this was a in the top 5 of ones I have done. The lack of vandalism, way of entrance, and how you could really experiance old vs new as the hospital had clearly developed over time into new wings. An AWSOME place. Hence the reason I've done a post.

On with the tour...

Impressive place, a mixture of old and new. I walked straight into fresh wards, that didn't feel like they had been closed long.

Starting off with a cool photo:

Always got to be a safe.

Some old plant pots, which shows how long this place must have been closed for.

When I saw this sign, I got pretty excited! Apparently built 2002/2003 according to the plaque. Interestingly, I can still remember the smell. It was foul.

Through some doors and bingo:

And then a little side room full of equipment, where you would have been taken post op for monitoring.

There were some old wards with bueatiful details.

Mixed with nice new wards which still looked better than some I have seen in real life :-)

The canteen and kitchen were cool, but nothing special to warrant boring you with photos.

And a posh board room

This was the real gem, an old school operating theatre. Hidden away within the building. Mind blowing. There was still patient information, including the donar parts and associated reference numbers on the white board. I obviously didn't photography any of this out of respect, but heres my favourite photo:

To walk in this room I had to go through here:

I found a couple of labs, but they didn't interest me so there is a lack of photos here. Just airy, clinical buildings.

And finally, NHS waste....

This was a maze of an explore. Really good fun, my favourite todate, if only for the long corridors, and trying to figure my way around.
