After seeing Catbalou's report on this place it seemed rude not to have a mooch about with it being so close by. As expected, having lived as a Bingo Hall for 50 years there was not much in the way of original features to look at. There are also contractors working inside removing certain things and seemingly smashing things.
The building opened as the Regent Cinema in 1935, and by the late 1960's was operating as a Bingo Hall. It lastly operated as the Mecca Bingo and closed in 2014. The site is due to be sold.
