Sarajevo hosted the winter Olympics in 1984; many of the facilities were abandoned, damaged during the war and now still lie abandoned in various locations in the mountains surrounding the city.
Bobsleigh Track
Located on Trebević mountain this site is open and very easy to access. If you have a car it's easy to drive to the area, park up anywhere and have a look around. Alternatively, the recently opened Sarajevo cable car provides a scenic ride up the mountain and from the top station it's a 5 minute walk to the start of the bobsleigh track.
This tower is a further 10 minute walk from the track
Ski Jump SIte
Located on Igman mountain, a little out of the city, the site of the ski jumping is best accessed by car. It does seem that during the winter season some of the slopes are still used for skiing, as evidenced by the still operational lift and the equipment hire shop on site, but much of the original facility remains untouched.
Medal podium - apparently used as an execution site during the war, it has now been repainted.
It was a bit of a walk to the top!
Building overlooking the jumps, used for judging I think.
