The Ridge Lea annex of the nearby Lancaster Moor hospital first opened in 1916 as a separate facility for more affluent patients than those being housed in the Moor buildings. The hospital was in use until 2014 for in house patients and then finally closed its doors in 2016. During my visit I noticed a letter signed by the County Council saying that it is due for demolition in March 2022, whether this happens or not we shall see.
For me the explore was a nice side trip as I was driving south from The Borders to Chesire for a wedding so it was a good excuse to stop off half way ish! There's a lot of damage and I did feel like some of my pics are attempts at polishing a turd but it was still good to get this place ticked off the list.
Hope you enjoy the pics!

Nicely done. I actually enjoyed this explore more than I thought I ever would. The decay and colours were lovely.

Like this. Not too far gone and a nice combination of stuff left and decay. Nicely photographed and good report. And who can't resist a Dutch gable end?

Nice looking building. Looks like a big explore. External fire escape stairs always attract me. I cant resist the climb to see if I can get a roof top shot or good chimney. Nice decay going on too.
