Ok guys, Here's my first trip report and I hope you like it! Any constructive criticisms of course welcomed.
When: 17th Feb 2010 1930-2130hrs
Where: Ridge Quarry (Corsham)
Who: Myself and Madmikey
A brief history
Ridge Quarry was originally run by the Bath Stone Co producing Oolite Limestone. It was then taken over in 1915 by the Ministry of Munitions for storage of Cordite & TNT during WW1. After the war it lay abandoned for eight years. Then in 1936 work began to convert the empty Quarry into suitable storage for bombs and bulk explosives exclusively for the RAF. It remained in service throughout WW2 and was eventually left by the RAF in 1955. It stayed in MOD hands until 1960 then left abandoned as before.
Nice easy quarry with plenty of great angles.. Easy access and no stress!
