ROF Bishopton, Royal Ordnance Factory visited with old skool and tour guide back in the summer, sorry on the late report but i get there i the end. while visiting a certain local power station we were lucky enough to get the chance to visit this simply stunning location, the only down side was we were in their five hours and only got to do a quarter of the site(if that) it's massive and well spread out and takes a long time to walk from one place to another. to save time we tried to pick out the the best buildings on the way to the cooling tower to do the whole site would take days but don't take my word for have a look at Ben Coopers reports a well documented coverage of the site
In brief the site manufactured propellent cordite for the British army and Royal air force in three factories from 1940. there are so many buildings and history on the site i feel it would be more beneficial to look at Bens reports or get your selfs to scotland and have a look yourselfs it's well worth it if your doing the Inverkip..Enjoy
