Hi All,
Another Explore, another sunny day and a good one at that. I visited this location with a fellow 28days later member Stan464. (Thanks for accompanying me to this site) Got some more locations in mind so watch this space for more
History
Roman Mosaic Limited, used to be importers and distributors of ceramic tiles, glass mosaic and terrazzo manufacturers. Very little background information. All I could find that they were bought out
of administration by Tiles UK of Manchester in December 2004 who took over the site. They are no longer there.
Report
We met at a local pub and walked to the location, access was really easy as the gates had already been prised open and you could literally walk straight inside. The location is near a main road and a car dealership, a man saw us enter the site and didn't seem to bothered. There were 3-4 separate buildings which I assume 2 of which were used as storage facilities and the others were used for manufacture of ceramic tiles. The buildings are in quite a good condition, apart from the second floor of building 3 which is completely fire damaged, I can only assume due to arsonists. There were lots of pieces of graffiti doted around the inside of the buildings which looked incredible given the setting, time sheets for staff, machinery and thousands of tiles. A good little explore with easy access to all of the buildings, I'd be careful when exploring the remains of the upstairs of the office building in some places there is no floor and you must be check your footing.
The site is very easy to navigate and had lots of rooms to explore, I'll let my photos do the rest of the talking! I have only put a few of my photographs on here, if you want to see more let me know and I'll send you my photo-bucket link.
Happy Viewing, Let me know your thoughts
Thanks again to my fellow Urbexer Stan464!
