I decided to have a crack at Rossington pit today, the only other decent size site I've done is Thorpe Marsh power station, so I'm not very confident and so this isn't a very good report I feel.
anyway...
I went with my mate who I lent my compact digital to and these are his pictures, mine are all B&W on film and so I need to get them developed.
Security is excellent, we'd been there 5 mins and we got caught, you can see the security guard coming over in one of the pictures, we legged it before he reached us and took the rest of the pictures from the pit tip, which is why i say its not a good explore. It could be done better by someone with a bit more experience i think.
demolition is in progress and it looks like the wire ropes for the head gear have been cut as they are hanging slack, but that might be normal?
