This factory originally opened in 1966 to make aircraft enginges, the company got into financial difficulties in 1971 and the factory finally closed in 1977.
In 1979 the site reopend under a different name to make car seat belts, it stayed open until 2004 when production finally ceased due to competition from abroad, approx 600 people lost their job.
This is the town I was born and raised so I have many memories of going through this HUGE empty site when I was a kid, I only wish at the time I had a camera and understood the beauty of these derelict giants as I do now.
The only part of the site still standing is the personell wing which has been largely destroyed by vandals but it has some nice fittings & fixtures if that tickles your fancy.
This is my first official report on here so go easy on me, and for reference tha's not me in the pictures, it's LittleUrbexNI.....IG - UrbexNi
