Rugby Mill ( Chadderton, Oldham )
Thought i would get in there before the developers got to it , and also got caught of the police but was all good because he was a explorer in his spare time so not a bad day !!!!
Built 1908. Powered by a 1200 hp G Saxon engine (probably horizontal four cylinder layout - twin tandem or 4 cylinder triple?). Architect F W Dixon & Son (The Stott dynasty accounted for the design of many mills but Dixon was a competitor)
One of a group of four still extant mills in the south west corner of Chadderton.
Built in 1908 to the design of F. W. Dixon & Son, a local competitor to the renowned Stott dynasty. The engine was a 1200 hp cross-compound by George Saxon.
The mill was still largely complete in 2010 except for the chimney, but by then was unoccupied and showing signs of increasing decay.
