Saltaire Garden Centre is located within the Heritage Site village of Saltaire, near Bradford, West Yorkshire and by the side of the Leeds Liverpool Canal.
The garden centre closed in 2010, it has become horrid mess to look at those walking and cycling the historic waterway.
The derelict, overgrown eyesore of twisted metal and broken glass is owned by Hartley Property Trust.
Over the years, there has been planning applications to develop the site into residential homes which have been rejected, mainly due to the swing bridge that leads to the site down Hirst Mill Crescent having a weight limit, and therefore being unable to support the transferring of building materials and construction equipment.
The Explore
I first passed this place, on my way to another explore a few week back but didn't have time go back. The place is very overgrown, neglected and vandalised. Lots of graffiti suggests the place is a regular hang out spot. Still alot of the plant pots and enclosures still around.
