We had a look round this place while passing as it's very local to us. It was posted on here some time ago but we just hadn't got round to it. We weren't expecting much but it's more intact than expected and there was quite a bit we hadn't seen on the previous report so thought we'd post an update. Apologies for the quality of the photos as we didn't have any camera gear with us so it's all phone pics.
Scott clinic was a medium security psychiatric unit on the outskirts of Rainhill. It was built on the site of the former Rainhill Hospital County Lunatic Asylum.
The clinic was branded not fit for purpose in a 2015 NHS report and set to close after a number of issues. One patient was released back into the community after murdering his father only to go on to murder his mother. At one point the clinic also held the man who stabbed former Beatle George Harrison.
Access to this place is very easy, it's clearly been stripped for metal and is in a sorry state but the higher security sections on the first floor are pretty intact and quite interesting.
