This was one of the secret bases for the British Resistance movement during WW2. This one was actually a Zero station which means it was equipped with a radio.
The idea of the resistance was that if we were invaded they would work behind enemy lines on sabotage and assassinations. They were very secret and to this day not all the members and location’s are known.
This one is in poor condition, the main chamber has collapsed and in the last year someone has pulled part of the roof off to gain access.
These are only small sites (about the size of a Nissan hut) but I think an important piece of our history so should be well documented.
The aerial for the radio was hidden under the bark of a nearby tree.
