An excellent afternoon with Lost Explorer.
Been meaning to check out this place for years. The outside was uninspiring, but the inside exceeded all expectations.
The incinerator opened in the 1970s, and closed possibly around 1991. Some of the aluminium cans we found were dated 1997. The site continued to be used by the county council as a tip until 2011. The chimney was demolished at least 12 years ago.
Finished the day off with a good Chinese take away and a pint.
The outside was forgettable...
... but the inside made it all worth while
here's the incinerators
a very long exposure; it was extremely dark in here
arriving landfill was pushed in here, and carried up the conveyor belts
some items were obviously handpicked from the conveyor belt here
old school technology
thanks for looking
