A former chemical plant that used to produce chemicals for soap manufacturing and components for biodiesel. The chemical plant is tiny, essentially one building and some auxiliary stuff. There is a power plant nearby, which used to have 100MWe installed back in the old days but now burns biomass and provides district heating in addition to some electricity. I couldn't find out when the chemical plant closed. The history is a bit murky, and since it was a small plant, not much is written anywhere online. From what I could gather, it was sold sometime in the late 2010s, but at the time, it had already been decommissioned for a while. So that's about it for the history.
The explore was uneventful. It was that sort of damp weather with an occasional light rain - more like autumn than spring really. We had two years old info about the way in, which proved correct. The area has a secondary use - storage or something - so we had to be quick, but other than that no problem. We went straight to the top floor and worked our way down. It is a typical chemical factory. Each floor looks similar. Sometimes there are those drum boiler-like things, sometimes there are reactors half buried in the floor. We got to see a nice lab and a computerized control room, which looked like the old panels had been removed or just walled off with sheet metal. Could be better, could be worse. Once again, the light was shite, so the photos may have some funky light in them.
