"A SPLASH park on Canvey has closed with immediate effect after it became too expensive to keep open.
Stay and Splash, at the Paddocks, has provided children with decades of fun-packed days in the summer with its paddling pool, sand pit and children’s play equipment.
The ageing venue needs extensive upgrading and refurbishment works and the costs to maintain the site have become too great for the Walbys to sustain, as well as the costs involved with health and safety and pool safety legislation."

Sadness over immediate closure of popular splash park

A SPLASH park on Canvey has closed with immediate effect after it became too expensive to keep open.

I am pretty local so after hearing about the closure I decided to hop in the car and go for a quick look. Definitely quite dismal in the midst of the storm, I'm sure lots of very fond memories were made here.

Not a bad effort that, it looks pretty secure too, more like a prison than a paddling pool with all that razor wire lol
