This huge asylum is widely considered the best in Ireland due to the lack of vandalism and the sheer number of items left behind. We left Belfast early in the morning and after a 5 hour drive, finally arrived. Entry was a breeze and we spent close to 7 hours inside the main asylum building, however had to leave due to rapidly fading light meaning a return visit is in order to explore the outbuildings which include a church and a morgue. Surprisingly, despite the heavy water damage and natural decay, large parts of the asylum still had working electricity! The original files were too large to upload so I have had to upload the compressed, lower quality images from my Facebook page. Sorry about that!
