I know my last report was also on St Crispin, but I’d promised to take a group of people there, and I think I captured a lot more of the details of the place on this trip, so bare with me.
Went with SamCT, Lost Explorer and a group of non 28dl’ers. We had the place pretty much to ourselves, and spent a good 7 hours exploring the buildings, falling through floors, eating lunch and being scared of the dark.
The asylum closed in 1996, and much of it has been converted into flats. What is still standing is very much stripped, hence my shots are very much of the smaller details left.
Enjoy.
Started of in the dark children’s ward. My tripod instantly broke, and I had been nice to lend my other one to SamCT.
Much needed..
Moving on to the beautiful manorhouse. This was definitely my favourite building of the lot, and as I missed it last time we were here, it was a whole new explore. Could however have been without the scaring noise of someone falling through the floor above me, knowing it was either my boyfriend or best friend. A scraped leg later, best friend was on the go again though.
I rather fell inlove with this old wallpaper, but none of the manfolk seemed to appreciate it’s greatness.
Ladder porn!
I missed much of the admin building as there was lunch, and thereby chocolates, and I was playing nurse to repair the damage of the fall through the floor, but I did finally find the old wage book.. amazing.
Moving on to the projector room and tower. Can you believe I FORGOT to take pictures of the actual projector?
SamCT ready for his towerclimb!
After this was a short visit to the old mens ward…
And finally… the tunnels. Being absolutely scared of the dark, this was a bit of a challenge! Especially when SamCT found it hilarious to yell: “Lights out everybody!†and leave me in total panic in the darkness!!
..and then it was for home to my old shoefactory with my fellow explorers for pizza and the documentary about Detroit. Win!
