St Luke's Hospital Mortuary
The mortuary at St Luke's Hospital is a small 1960s dating building that was decommissioned probably around 2010.
It is supposed to be getting demolished soon, which helped indicate to us that it was in a 'severely dilapidated' condition and pressure us to visit soon. However, we had looked at St Luke's in 2022 scouring at some other buildings that are also disused. We walked around the mortuary back then too, but it looked rock solid. Returning after lord howlin had a little recce to no avail, we were finally able to get inside last week. It was cool to see a hospital building of it's merit so decayed but with enough inside of interest, but disappointing to say the least, especially after seeing the room with the fridges, we thought we were onto something golden. Anyway, just a little report today. More coming from me and @jtza , who gladly joined us on a lovely little night trip to Bradford.
Waiting room, just passed reception, which was very close to falling down and not worth a picture.
Lots of interesting documents did remain at reception. [IMAGE REMOVED] GDPR
Chapel of rest.
Fridges with some body trolleys.
Cool sliding doors into the main slab room. Fingers crossed...
Nooooo... tragic. Probably would have had three in it's hey day, and I'd assume the metal ones. Still, the decay of the room and blue tiles was pretty cool. That was it for the building, besides some toilets and showers.
Thanks for reading
