Closed since 2007, as many of us know the site of the former Stanton Ironworks in Derbyshire is a wasteland and a ghost of itself. Once boasting miles upon miles of internal railways, surprisingly 12 years after closure the railway from the Erewash valley mainline is still intact, and largely weed free.
I followed the line from just shy of the Erewash valley Line, and took it right to the terminus. Although there are a couple of obstacles, the line is complete. Below are a few images in order of walking them, and also a video link of the walk & explore.
