Opened May 1960, closed September 1991, restoration started in March 2008.
And a very thorough restoration job it is too.
Botch organised an open day last Sunday and with his helpers he brought all of his artifacts down to show visitors what a complete post would have looked like.
My first ROC post. I don’t think I could have chosen a better one. A very interesting visit, thanks Botch.
With 7 people down there at a time, it would have been rude to get my tripod out so all the pics are high iso and hand held. Sorry
Please note - no items of value are left in the bunker when not in use. It remains locked and alarmed when not in use.
Above ground some other items were displayed including this Soviet poster advising residents how to construct a refuge.
