Sweden again, this time on top of the soil surface instead of down in the underworld...
A nice old small power station somewhere in Sweden
It was, unfortunately, just a quick visit as we passed, the sun was going down, so there were not many pictures.
It is said that this power station was in operation already in 1906. The aim was to provide new industry in the vicinity of electric power instead of steam power.
Large tubes leading into the water from the adjacent pond to two small turbines which were coupled to two electric generators. Each turbine delivers approximately 500 kW, which resulted in an annual production of around 9 GWh.
In 1992 they closed the old power station (In operation 1906-1992, Swedish quality ) and a more modern came into operation. The new power station that replaced the older, has a normal annual production of about 12 GWh.
Nice that the old power station is still there, it has been aged in a beautiful way
