Teffont Limestone Quarry, Wiltshire.
Spotted the reports from @Kinger and @Montstar and having had a useful chat with the former, headed up the A303.
Not a lot of history to be found about the quarry, unlike its near neighbour that ended up as an RAF munitions store.
I'd tend to agree with Kinger's opinion that there's no evidence of military use here.
So, a limestone quarry that finally closed in 2010.
There's a definite divide between the old part and newer workings.
The site has various other names including Barrow Quarry, Linda Barrow Mine and North Chilmark.
The Mine Office
Looking back
The old workings, partially filled with deads
Saws, benches etc
Heading up a small incline to the more recent workings
And this little beauty
And no apologies for a selfie to finish
Enjoyable trip with my good mates @Lenston and @Porker of the night
Thanks for looking
