The Basin is a massive culvert on the Derryware burn in Dungiven. It consists of a massive 50 meter long stone arch tunnel 20 foot high and 10 feet high.
This is the railway culvert tunnel the tunnel itself has been strengthened with rails at some point in the last 70 years
Inside the tunnel about 10 meters the tunnel is straight so the otherside can be seen easy the tunnel is so tall the morning sun can flood the tunnel with light easily.
The Outlet.
This is about halfway back inside the tunnel.
The Basin itself where the name comes from the burn flows under the concrete tunnel which is a bridge in fact.
Flicker scooter battling against the rising water.
'
Debris caught around an old piece of railroad track.
Not the longest darkest culvert I explored but was still simply amazing first large stone culvert i explored fitted with a basin Thanks for looking.
