I saw @Shutterfilm35's report on this place (link) from 2021 and decided to swing by the place myself as I was working nearby.

Shutterfilm covers the history in their post but to summarise, it was a hostel and sports facility for young people in Birmingham which was originally used as a restaurant until the 1960's. Funding issues for the Centre started in 2008 however the site remained open until it eventually closed in 2019. Various discussions have taken place in recent years around repurposing the building, with talks in 2023 encouraging the National Trust to take over the site, but so far little has been done.

Since the report on here from 2021 the building has been heavily vandalised. Since it closed, at least five fires have been recorded with the most recent being in August 2024 - the result of these has been significant damage to the roof. The external stairs have since been removed and shutting has been placed over the windows and doors - this seems like too little too late.

The hall is in the closest section.

There appeared to be a stream running along the back of the site - I have no idea if this was related to the building as it had this concrete cover over it with nothing on top ...

And that's all - not the most exciting explore but it's something...

As a little bonus, I visited the former Hollywell Asylum afterwards, which is 10 minutes down the road. Not much to see now but the water tower and chapel are still standing with the remaining buildings used as a GP surgery and nursery.
