This hotel is one of a few boarded up buildings on Station Road, Hoveton. The hotel has been closed since 2007. It has become a eyesore, trashed and left to rot.
Quote from the EDP "Its owner Jon Herbert, who is both a Norfolk county and South Norfolk district councilor, had been accused of making river-front Station Road look like an inner-city slum."
There was a fire there in December 2009 which caused a fair amount damage to parts of the building. There are lots of broken windows and holes in the roof which has made it very attractive to pigeons! There are loads of them in the upper floors and there poo is everywhere!
Wouldn't really recommend visiting this place. Its full of pigeons, pigeon poo, it stinks and most of it has been trashed. (Still glad I had a look though!)
There are plans for it to be torn down within the year after the owner received planning permission to build 17 flats on the site.
