History
On August 10th, 1979, a former Sealink passenger ferry called “The Duke of Lancaster" was beached at Llanerch-y-Mor in North Wales with the intention of turning it into a floating leisure and retail complex called The Fun Ship but the project never achieved it’s full potential due to many long running legal disputes with the local council.
Site report
I grew up in North Wales and have always been facinated by the fun ship, or "scooby doo ghost ship" as we used to call it in school. I remember going on it as a child during the early 80's during that time it was full of market stalls and arcade games and machines and the bar/disco was open.
Its near impossible to get in or on the ship. Secca on site 24/7 there is a caravan on site which they live in.
aparantly the inside is still untouched, a time capsule, its not rotting away...
Couldnt get any nearer than this, securtiy fella wouldnt allow us any closer...
Someone needs to stealth it out and get inside!!!
BBC's coast programme were allowed to film inside in 2012 it looks amazing!
