Kulturehaus
A completely superb place from my solo 8 day in Europe last year. Thanks to @Priority 7 for pointing me to this one, himself & a few others were swiftly on my heals here but more about that later,
Much is made of sites like the Re-Education centre that sole purpose was to indoctrinate the populous, however it was far from the only method used. The GDR constructed these Kulturhaus' anywhere there was a centre of production, mines, steelworks etc as a "gift" to the workers to enjoy films and entertainment with their families. Needless to say these films and performances would be nothing more than a method to reinforce the idealogy of the ruling party.
Priority has already posted some excellent pics here Kulturhaus P though Im not sure how he managed to narrow it down to that few lol
the Explore
Took a bit of time to get in this one but Im so glad I persisted. "one" of my favorite explores out there if Im honest.
So I knew priority & the guys were heading to this one too but after a few hours in here seeing someone coming down the stairs still sent me running to the nearest hideout which happened to be ... the womens toilet!
There I held out for 10 min or so frantically messaging everyone in the group until I realised it actually was them I had seen :ROFLMAO:
I did get some lovely shots of the toilets though
Anyway did I mention this place is nice. first we come into the foyer
Each side of the foyer lays a rather impressive mirrored set of stairs
Staying in the lower rooms for now modest corridors take you through to various storage rooms
These rooms contained lots of goodies, here we have some architectural pieces that have clearly came off the building somewhere
What have we here? projector of some sorts
Heading under the stage there was some lovely curtain mechanisms & a cool stage lift.
Heading upstairs they are just as impressive from the top.
Once upstairs the place first adorns this rather lovely ballroom
