The Savoy is situated in the back to back terraces of Kettering. It is a typical picture house, which has been calved up into a bingo hall, with the circle being split into two small screens.
After having the tune to "whatever happened to the likely lads?" sung at me by the locals, I was in pretty easy. Althogh modernsied and quite decayed, the nice old cinema features were there to find.
Above the horrid 70's bingo crap the fly tower remains intact, complete with ropes, gantrys and gang show vintage graffiti! I climbed the iron ladderto the top but did not fancy the wooden bridge with crindgeworthy drop, so I went back down!
The proj room still has a section of a British Thompson Houston arc projector, as well as loads of arcs and snippets of films. All in all a really nice explore.
