Part II of our Visit to Kings Park

Let's dive right into part two, shall we?

Continuing our tour of the not-usually-seen (or at least not-constantly-featured-in-online-photo-galleries-on-a-weekly-basis) areas of KPPC, we arrived at an old building which was a pleasant surprise. This building had been used for staff housing, and the wings featured plenty of corridors of empty, boring dorm rooms:

...and so forth. But it also featured some pretty cool common spaces, including the first room we came to after emerging from the foul, damp basement - the kitchen.
5 - "Cooking With Crap," a new feature television series detailing the creative culinary adventures of "found ingredients" enthusiast CaptainJack
6
7 - A roof that feels more like a gahhden
8 - and a really cool central section that felt straight out of the Addams Family
9
10
11 - the Standing Water Ballroom was nearly pitch black, and required light painting to photograph
Somehow I came away with not a single exterior shot of the building, which is a shame, because it had a very cool massive rotunda kind of deal going on at the center.
Anyway, we checked out another couple of buildings specifically because they're on the supposed demolition list (as are all three bewwdins from the last post). These are surrounded by forest, and the forest has moved in: the top floors had a nice carpet of leaves to walk on.

13
14 - There was not too much to see in the way of actual building features or contents...
...but nearly every room featured one single chair. And so was hatched the idea for our upcoming coffee table book, "The Feral Chairs of Kings Park," sure to be all the rage for the 2012 holiday season on Amazon.
