Intro- One night whilst out enjoying the sights in Glasgow I stumbled into the proximity of this Titan from Glasgow's past, and as tends to be the way in when it comes to exploring I found myself having a private viewing.
The History- A century-old crane that has been transformed into a popular tourist attraction, the Titan is one of Scotland's most unusual engineering feats.
The Titan towers 150 ft over the Clyde, and on a clear evening you can see the mighty cantilever crane from miles away, thanks to its nightly illuminations.
Commissioned in the first years of the 20th century, the crane was built in the heart of the shipbuilding hub of Clydebank and finished in 1907. A hundred years later, Titan Crane reopened as one of Scotland’s most unique tourist attractions, acting as a lookout point over Glasgow. Titan Crane - Clydebank - VisitScotland
