The History:
Couldn't find a lot on this on..
Grade II listed building which did undergo refurbishment in 2009, but would later go into administration on July 7th in 2010, finally closing its doors for good in January of 2014. Locals had a petition for it to re-open and remain as a boozer and plans after this were for it to turn into a restaurant. Clearly neither have come to fruition.
The Explore:
This explore is kind of local. Save the local ones for boring midweek days when you've got nout all else to do after work! Met up and headed down. Access was... tricky to say the least. Luckily we found a way in, and even luckier still found a much safer and easier way out.. Phew.
Anyway, we were in. noticed roof access straight away, looks like someone else had left it setup, cheers lads! Shame about the netting all over the top of the roof though, kind of spoiled a pretty decent little view! from a first glance it looks like its still in pretty good shape apart from the odd room or wall here and there with the obligatory bit of vandalism. Smashed windows, walls punched or ripped off etc. shame.
Pretty nice little walk around. Doesn't look like much, or very big from the outside but once you get inside its a lot bigger than it looks and you can definitely spend a good while in here mooching around. I do love looking at an old, disused bar! Note to self, stay out of the toilets, they stink.
Thanks again for taking a look
