Threlkeld was opened in May 1961 and closed September 1991. I visited this post a day after I visited the Penrith one. I opened up the shaft, and I though it had been burnt out but thankfully it hadn't!! The post is also in great condition with ROC mags, old papers, materess's and other awesome features. There is still the observation post tower thingamajig, but no steps, and its full of rubbish. The pictures:
