I seem to have amassed quite a backlog of power stations, so I'll get posting, starting off with the most recent - Tilbury B, which we visited just last month in fact.
Decommissioning at Tilbury B is now fully complete and the site is pretty quiet. The place is now powered down.
Phone shot external at sunset
Having a chilled day there was quite nice - a welcome change from a few much more intense explores we'd had at other power stations, meaning we could have a much better look around and explore all the nooks and crannies. This has pros and cons, however - shooting in natural light around the main areas was nice, but some areas were just too dark to shoot. Just having a look around those areas was good though, and the control room was a nice highlight.

Turbine Hall
View from the central crane
View in the other direction
Twin turbines and alternator
Control panel and crane
Turbines
Turbines
End of turbine - I loved the shape of these
Alternator
Unit 7 had been dismantled a few years before the station closed
The turbines are now stripped
And the alternator is just a shell
Boiler House
The retro signage is cool
Boiler house viewed from turbine hall
Now that is pipe porn!
There were some cool tanks right up at the top
Coal conveyors
Control Room
The control room is semi-computerised, but there is still a pleasing amount of "proper" panels left
Central control area
Each unit has an identical desk like this
And a quick shot of the jetty at night...
Dinosaur coal hoovers!
