~
Greetings dear viewer.
A quick follow-up to my previous report
(and, indeed, quite a few other peoples good reports )
If you don't know this place - do take a look at the link above - there is a lot more to see
Took a little trip back here today.
The place still has much to offer, with may great features and finds.
Above/below: Sample request from Hugo Boss
(Yes Mr Posh Banker your posey German suits started life in Somerset)
Sadly, however, it is being 'pikeyed' for its metals
Bearings are being actively stripped for their brass and phosphorebronze, there are lineshafts pulled down, with their cast iron wheels smashed off.
There were still pikey tools, and pikeys lunch around (Polish Noodles) and piles of bearing shells outside where the bearing linings have been prized out.
Machinery has been damaged where the metalwork has been smashed from woodwork.
Thankfully such gems as the samples are still intact:
As I was leaving some local kids were building a BMX ramp around the side and discussing how many more bricks need to come out of the entrance hole to get their bikes inside
It's time to go public on this one
It might also be time to shame the owners into a better lockdown - they must know what is happening.
As I said at the beginning, this is only a quick snapshot -
For a fuller report from earlier this year see: my previous report
