Tonedale Mill Fleece Processing Mills.
I keep an eye on this place with it being my local derp, and having heard news of contractors moving on to the site (more of this later), I needed a visit.
Whilst there, an opertunity arose to check out a couple of buildings that had always eluded me - either they had been well secured or fairly busy.
The buildings in question were where the raw fleeces would arrive, get sorted, carded and washed before heading to other parts of the works to be spun into fine worsted and woollen cloth.
Many of you will know the site well, and for those who don't, heres a link to some history of the Fox Brothers http://foxflannel.com
Some snaps
So, parts of the building seem to be being used as a mess hall for the contractors and at least one small business is still operating here.
Was nice to tick these buildings off of the list. Think I've covered the whole site now.
And onto the on site contractors. They are doing no more than clearing the site at the moment.
Three static caravans have appeared outside of mills 2 and 3. Looks like they are still in the process of plumbing them in and sorting electricity.
The whole site is still doable, however it's not going to be quite the walk in that it has been.
Security fences have been replaced etc, but still not too much of a problem if you keep your eyes open.
