Saw this one go unused a few weeks ago while driving past. Noticed windows smashed out in the admin building. I think the company moved out maybe 6 months ago, and it looks like power is still connected to the site as there are security lights, and a chilled water fountain that is working.
Not much history about the factory/warehouse as it is maybe post war, some of the photos of some power outlets may be able to date the building. As far as Northam goes in regards to UE this site is new and in good condition, as it is alarmed in some sections, but at least the large warehouse area had some interesting bits to it.
Some history.
I had a look about the internet, as far as I can see, Holtfreters was established in about 1946, and were an industrial engineering company that specialized in mining and agriculture equipment
1. The outside rear
2. A gas regulator.
3. A close up of one of the guages.
4. One of the power outlets.
5. Another power outlet.
6. And a different one. I would say they are 3 phase.
7. Exhaust fan.
8. One of the interior pillars, this supports a gantry crane (which was missing)
9. Looking from the other side.
10. Then we got busted.......by the storm.
11. Large steel beams.
12. Another one.
All in all, not a bad little explore, hope you enjoy.
