Truleigh Hill was a Chain Home Extra Low (CHEL) site built in 1952 to replace the Chain Home Low Radar station built at the site in 1939. It was a R2 single level operations room serving a single Type 14 radar system. The station was decommissioned in 1958 and sold to a private buyer in 1965

The explore

A real relic of the cold war. If you walk about the bungalow you might very well be able to spot an entrance to the bunker. But be warned this place is loaded with asbestos. The bungalow is also used by sussex police/emergency services for comms (which is probably why the electric is still on) so best be discrete. As the sign says "Enter at your own risk!"

People have broken into the bungalow and police turned up, I dunno why people do that the entry was already open outside so was no need for it

I would say anyone going into the bunker risks being arrested given the link to the emergency service communications. Sussex Police probably view this as their property. The farmer who owns the land surrounding it is very aware people try to get into it. I have actually spoken to him about the incident in the late 60s where a teenager was crushed to death by a blast door in the bunker.

They obviously wasn't keeping an eye when the grow was down there unless the farmer got a share lol

I do not know what has been going on down there it is meant to be abandoned since the 70s but there was a pile of modern electrical wiring, with modern electrical RCD type fuse boxes and large water containers as shown in your report that certainly looked newer than the 1960s/1970s. Infact this must have taken place after 2007 when some guys got in via a different route: Report - - Truleigh Hill R2 Nuclear Bunker 03-10-07 | Underground Sites when the blast door to the bungalow tunnel was locked. If it is linked to a growing operation they have some balls since I suspect Sussex Police are paying for the electric bill here.
