Every morning I wake up to the site of Truliegh hill and on top I see the 3 towers poking up into the sky, and every morning I think imagine the views. So...
We climbed it. Here are the photos and a description of the expedition.
As you get the base of the tower in sight you wonder what's in the adjacent building, are there workers, animals or maybe a resident. Anyway we checked for BT vans and unless they live there, there was no evidence anyone was there. So with that we scaled the 11-12 foot fence enclosing the tower, with the help of a nicely placed tree.
To my complete surprise I jump down to find that was it security wise, there ladder guard (that didn't even reach my head heigh had been left to the side.
So from here it was up 1 looong ladder
Stopping at each platform I felt the wind increasing with every rung of the ladder. Half way up we woke a resident up, woops.
Finally reaching the top I can safely say the views were the best I've seen on such a clear day. A complete 360 panoramic display of UK countryside.
Then another small ladder branched out from the corner allowing maintenance for the light, so I could not help but climb it.
Overall relatively easy climb but excellent views, life nearby seemed non existent so no worries there.
Hope you liked my first post, camera was iPod Touch 5th Generation, definitely need an upgrade!
