Another Scottish road trip, another disused paper mill power station! 2009 and 2010 were the golden years for exploring the Scottish paper industry really. We started off with the excellent yet quite stripped example at Caldwells, progressed onto better if not bigger things at Fettykil, Curtis Fine, Kilbagie and Carrongrove, we even had a small look here back then too.
When i was last here a part of the site was being redeveloped to build a brand new biofuel CHP plant. That plant finally came on line in 2014 rendering the original powerhouse redundant and with my 2015 summer road trip plans escalating wildly suddenly i found myself thinking about what there was to sniff out north of the boarder. This place was a no brainer really! You can imagine my excitement when i googled it up again and found out the whole plant had just gone into administration!
