So most people have seen it before, the Typhoo Tea Factory in Digbeth, Birmingham but today was the first time I’ve managed to get into it, and finally!
Entry was fairly simple as my Mrs knew a way in from a previous time she’d visited.
The inside is fairly trashed, but it’s still lovely to explore. However, I would recommend going with a buddy if you can, as when we were on the top floors we heard voices in the stairwell, and also found engine oil bottles poured over some of the rooms, so sadly, only time will tell before “fire bugs” (saw the term in a thread the other day which I rather like) start lighting fires and the place will be destroyed.

Below are the photos I took eventhough most will be similar to what has been seen before, just with my artistic spin on them.

Thanks for looking!

Yeah, pretty much. You’ve just got to come and go and see if luck is in your favour! Great place to explore though if nobody has ever been!

Do you know the history of this building like when it was built and how long it was used.

Wow. She is looking knackered these days. I tried to her in about three years back and a chap was locking the place down. He wasn’t best pleased but was polite enough

Good to see some more photos of the inside. We get an outside view of so many derelict places from our narrowboat, and it's sad to think what an important part they played in the history of industry and canals. Factories around Brum had their own canal entrance, mostly bricked up now. This one is still marked on the canal maps and boating guides as 'Typhoo Basin'. The photos I took from the basin are here — https://www.28dayslater.co.uk/threads/typhoo-tea-factory-birmingham.112585/#post-1210409

Thinking of going here soon with a mate. Anyone been lately? Heard there was squatters. Also what about security? Thanks.
